Seemingly always looking in France for the next talent, Manchester City have found another promising player they are interested in.
After making a last minute move for Jean-Clair Todibo before the Toulouse defender signed for Barcelona, Pep Guardiola’s side have continued their search, focusing on Bilel Hassaini.
According to Foot Mercato, the AS Nancy Lorraine youngster, who will turn 18 in March, has been the subject of a lot of interest, especially in Spain, with clubs such as Atlético Madrid, Valencia and Barcelona circling.
Joining the Spanish trio are Borussia Dortmund, who are said to have travelled to watch the France U17 international a number of times, and the aforementioned Manchester City, who have ‘asked for information’ regarding the youngster’s situation.
Unfortunately for the Cityzens, Hassaini is said to be ‘prioritising’ a move to Spain, where his technical profile suits the style of football played more.
That being said, we all know Guardiola isn’t exactly a kick and rush manager, so the promise of eventually playing under the former Barcelona manager could have its appeal, but therein lies the issue, since youth players struggle to get first-team football at the Etihad.
Just ask Brahim Diaz.
