Inter Milan youngster Lorenzo Pirola has been drawing attention from several clubs across Europe.
This is according to FcInterNews, who claim that Manchester City have had their eyes on the 17-year-old ‘for months’ and the Premier League winners’ idea is to bring the centre-back to England.
He was part of Italy U17 side that finished runner-up in the recently concluded 2019 UEFA European Under-17 Championship that took place in Republic of Ireland earlier this month. They lost to France in the final.
The teenager was included in the Team of the Tournament and the report explains the defender’s performance also caught the attention of Bayern Munich scouts.
Amid interest from Pep Guardiola’s side and the German champions, the Nerazzurri’s idea is to not part ways with him.
Inter are planning on offering the youngster a new three-year deal to fend off other admirers and also secure his future.
FcInterNews states that Pirola’s performances have seen people at Inter’s academy compare him to their former defender Walter Samuel.
As the Italian club plan to offer the young defender a new deal, it should be seen if Manchester City or Bayern would be able to convince him to join them in the summer.
