Houssem Aouar, quite understandably, is going to have a big future ahead of him in the world of football.
The young midfielder has impressed ever since he made his debut for Lyon back in 2017, which has attracted the attention of many bigger European clubs, such as Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola already started laying the groundwork a while back by publicly praising the 21-year-old, and RMC Sport report on Friday the interest is definitely there from the Spaniard.
They state that ‘while City haven’t come back for more, that should be the case in the next few weeks when the sanitary situation has improved’.
They are obviously referring to the current Covid-19 pandemic, which has put the football world on hold for the time being, but they won’t be the only ones.
According to the French outlet, Juventus, who hold ‘excellent relations’ with Lyon, are also ‘not letting go’ of the France U21 international, while the ‘last few weeks’ have seen Paris Saint-Germain enter the fray.
As for where his current club stand in all this, it’s explained ‘the interested clubs have yet to contact’ Jean-Michel Aulas’ side, who ‘don’t want to block his exit’ all the while ‘waiting for a cheque of €50m’.
That seems a reasonable fee for a very in demand player, but we’ll have to wait and see if anyone actually comes forward in the coming weeks.
