For a while now, Manchester City have been named as an interested party when it comes to Fiorentina’s Dušan Vlahović.
Harry Kane remains the main target for the Premier League winners, but Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy’s reluctance to let his star leave has forced the Citizens to look at other options.
The Fiorentina striker has been repeatedly named as the first choice alternative to Kane in the Italian media and that’s again relayed by La Repubblica.
Pep Guardiola’s side are studying other tracks if a deal for Kane doesn’t take shape and as per the report, the first track ‘leads to Vlahović’, who is also followed by Spurs.
It’s said the Serbia international is ‘happy’ at the Serie A side, but a ‘call from Guardiola would change everything’.
A week ago, Fiorentina chairman Rocco Commisso stressed a fee of €100m is needed to take his prized asset away from the club.
Despite these comments, La Repubblica insist Commisso values Vlahović around €70m, while ‘City offer €55m’.
The English champions are €15m short of Commisson’s valuation. If City raise their offer and Guardiola makes a call, the situation could turn in the Etihad club’s favour to sign Vlahović.
