Reports have started flying all over the place that Crystal Palace have made a £20m+ bid for Manchester City’s Eliaquim Mangala.
Pep Guardiola’s side appear rather pleased at the fact someone would pay that much money for a player that has struggled since his arrival from Porto, but the defender himself isn’t as keen, it seems.
With his current club turning down a loan offer from Inter for his services, Mangala has, according to L’Equipe, asked for a few hours to decide whether he actually wants to move to Selhurst Park or not.
Spending last season on loan at Valencia, the 26-year-old was perhaps expecting to be moving once again to another big European side, but there’s a chance he could end up as the Eagles’ Mamadou Sakho alternative.
After all, if the Liverpool centre-back can make a name for himself once again with a spell down south, who’s to say Mangala can’t do the same.
First, however, he’ll have to accept their offer, and so will Manchester City.
