With 6 goals and 2 assists to his name so far this season, Atalanta’s Franck Kessie is on the wish-list of several top European clubs.
The 19-year-old midfielder is reportedly wanted by Manchester City, Manchester United, and Juventus. There have been reports claiming all the above mentioned clubs have already been in touch with his agent.
However, according to a latest report on Tutto Mercato Web, Juventus are ready to intensify their contacts to sign Kessie.
Tutto Mercato Web say several clubs are keen on the Ivorian midfielder, who has been inevitably dubbed the next ‘Yaya Toure’, but Manchester City could be the biggest threat to Juventus.
The Turin club would ideally want to sign him in January to avoid competition, but it’s been reported Atalanta and Kessie are reluctant to part ways in the middle of the season.
Kessie was prepared to sign for Sunderland during the summer transfer window but the move failed due to a work permit issue. Juventus are very good at snapping up the best of Serie A’s talent and may offer Atalanta a deal allowing Kessie to remain where he is for now.
At Manchester City there’s the possibility of working with Pep Guardiola, and also going to a club where Yaya Toure has made a huge impact. Whilst most comparisons are usually made on nothing other than nationality, Kessie is a strong defensive midfielder who is now evolving into a serious attacking threat, so the Toure link is somewhat valid.
