Manchester City are one of the clubs in the picture for Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala, according to Sky Deutschland.
His deal expires in 2026 and the report states the contract includes a salary of €9m per year. It’s claimed ‘there are interested parties’, and both Manchester City and Real Madrid are named.
Sky journalist Florian Plettenberg says there are clubs who could “pay more immediately” to take Musiala away from the Bavarian club.
As it stands, there are no discussions between Bayern and the attacking midfielder over a new contract. He wants to know whether his side have the potential to win the Champions League and if he can win the Ballon d’Or.
This is more important to the Germany international than the salary, and if these goals are to be at risk, Manchester City and Real Madrid could become interesting options for him.
Plettenberg adds Pep Guardiola’s side and Los Blancos would “come into consideration” for the player, if he decides to leave Thomas Tuchel’s side at some stage.
With the treble winners and the La Liga side as ‘interested parties’, Bayern have to make a decision on whether or not to increase his salary by renewing the star’s deal.
To be honest, it feels like despite the details, all these recent links are meant as a nudge to Bayern.
Along with Manchester City and Real Madrid, Liverpool have also been credited with interest in the player. Last week, we covered claims from Germany that Musiala is a target for the Reds.
