Argentine side Racing have found a deal for the signing of Manchester City youngster Benjamin Garre, according to local reports this Monday.
TyC Sports claims the clubs have agreed an amount of US$2.5m for the transfer. The 19-year-old is expected to sign a four-year contract next week.
It’s said that Racing are only acquiring 75% of the player, so Manchester City are probably keeping the rest in case of a future transfer.
Garré joined the Premier League side back in 2016 in a move from Velez Sarsfield. He never had a chance under Pep Guardiola, and should leave the club without making an official appearance.
The Argentine winger isn’t the only player leaving Manchester City to go back to his home country this month. A couple of weeks ago, the club also agreed the sale of Uriel Antuna to Mexican side Chivas, who have paid US$12m for his signing.
So it seems there are plans to cash in with youngsters who haven’t been used, perhaps eyeing to spend more in the January transfer window.
