Catalan newspaper Sport have got themselves all concerned about ‘various English reports’ Arsenal are keen on Matthijs de Ligt.
The problem for Sport is that for some weeks they’ve been building a story which would see Barcelona make a move for the Ajax defender.
At 18 years of age, Barca reportedly see the Dutchman as someone who could be important for their future, despite only recently signing Yerry Mina.
Sport believe Arsenal have their ‘man chosen’ and they say this is backed up by the London club sending scouts to watch De Ligt. But surely that would very much mean the man hasn’t been chosen, and Arsenal are scouting him to work out if he’s the one they want.
On top of that, we all know what claims from the English Sunday tabloids are like, and Sport probably don’t have much to worry about on behalf of their beloved Barca.Not at this stage anyway.
