Ahead of the Premier League clash between Newcastle United and Everton tonight, ESPN Brasil features an interview with Toffees’ midfielder Allan.
With the Magpies now becoming a sensation following the club’s takeover, it’s now time to see their new signings in action, and the Brazilian was, of course, asked about that.
Allan claims he’s actually glad that Newcastle have been able to reinforce their squad like that, as it will not be only good for the league, but for all those who want to play on a higher level as well.
“I think that’s always good for the league. It makes it more fun, and there’s more demand from the fans. So the more quality players you have in the Premier League, it’s always better. I always want to face the good players, of top level,” Allan told ESPN Brasil.
Speaking of the match, Allan recalled that Everton made a couple of signings as well, and urged the Toffees to go back to Liverpool with a win in the bag.
“We know it will be a difficult game. Newcastle made several signings, but I also believe that we brought in two good players, important guys, who arrived to help us.”
“It will be a very difficult game, very disputed, in which both teams will seek victory at all times. I hope that we can have a bright day, play a great game and bring these three points home, as they will be very important for us.”
As Newcastle currently have 15 points and Everton stand with 19, this is quite an important match for the clubs who want to avoid the risk of relegation as soon as possible, and a win from the Toffees could only leave the Magpies in a quite complicated situation.
