On Monday we covered some of the praise Bryan Gil has been receiving since he left Tottenham on loan for Valencia.
The 20-year-old has already impressed fans of the Spanish club, and he was described as a ‘new idol’ for them. Gil has already shown some magic in the minutes he’s had so far, and it was thought that much of Valencia’s attacking play could now go through him.
The only downside was that there’s no buying option in the loan. Tottenham were said to have told Valencia there was no point, because the amount would be set so high that it would be unrealistic for Los Ches to afford it.
It didn’t take long for the ‘what if’ slants to arrive.
Spanish journalist Fran Guaita now goes with a Cadena Ser article article titled: ‘Sell Guedes and sign Bryan Gil’
The Tottenham youngster has already got Valencia ‘fans on their feet’ with his ‘electricity’, and it’s insisted that attempts must be made to sign him. Guaita’s plan would be for the club to sell Goncalo Guedes and use the money to ‘make a serious proposal to Tottenham’.
Spurs would be ‘willing to listen’, according to the slant, and these claims are only likely to grow if Gil continues impressing.
However, the more he impresses the more Spurs will value him, and it may be that Valencia’s best chance of keeping the Spain international is another loan.
