Romelu Lukaku was excellent for Belgium at the World Cup.
The Manchester United player’s all-round game really helped Roberto Martinez’s team and he showed a willingness to take responsibility and makes things happen, rather than simply wait for the ball.
Some of the striker’s off the ball movement was so good it became a social media theme, and the appreciation of Lukaku certainly grew.
One man who is clearly a huge fan of the Manchester United player is Belgian football analyst Geert de Vileger.
The former international goalkeeper, who spent a couple of years with Manchester City without playing, was speaking on Sports Late Night in Belgium this week and Lukaku came up.
Voetbal24 have picked up some of what De Vileger said: “I think Lukaku is already better than Drogba. He is so young and can accomplish so much.”
Chelsea fans probably think 25 year old Lukaku has some way to go before he matches club legend Didier Drogba.
Drogba won the Premier League and FA Cup four times with Chelsea, and also helped bring the first Champions League to Stamford Bridge.
