Watford striker Luís Suárez has confirmed the club want him to return to Vicarage Road next season.

The Columbian striker has been in red-hot form on loan at Real Zaragoza this season, scoring 17 goals in LaLiga2 so far.

His form has not gone unnoticed, with a number of clubs thought to be chasing his signature in the summer transfer window.

However, Watford are not keen on losing him and reports have indicated they will resist any bids, instead looking to sign the 22-year-old up to a new deal and use him in the first-team next season.

Suárez has confirmed that is the plan, although for now he is focused on securing promotion with Zaragoza.

“I dream of scoring the goal of promotion. Arriving here has given me a leap in quality in every way,” El Periódico de Aragón report him saying.

“I’ve exploded here, and I’d like to stay because of how I’ve been treated, but in the end, we have to reach agreements. Everything will be decided at the end of the season.

“Watford want me to return there, and I know that there are several teams that have asked for me.

“But there is nothing. I am focused on finishing the season here and giving a promotion to Real Zaragoza. After that, you will see what’s decided.”

The list of suitors for Suárez has been growing by the day, with the player earning admiring glances from across the continent.

Clubs in Spain and Italy seem particularly keen, with Lazio the latest to join the list of those thought to have been watching him.

Inter Milan are one of the few who are yet to be linked, but Suárez admits he hopes that could change in future.

“I’ve always liked Inter because of the players they’ve had,” he added.

“My idol Ronaldo Nazario played there, so hopefully one day it will happen. I’d be proud of that.”
