Another day, another article about how Antonio Conte wants N’Golo Kanté at Inter and the many ways they could get him.
Normally, it comes down to the Italian side needing to sell players to create the funds, but it appears Corriere dello Sport have a new idea in mind.
It’s a long shot, and it appears the newspaper know this, but they believe ‘the puzzle would be solved easily if Chelsea were interested in the Dane’.
This comes after a big article about how Arsenal could swap Granit Xhaka to get Eriksen, and while Manchester United and Liverpool are also mentioned, it’s Kanté that Conte wants, and the perfect place for his wantaway player to land would be Stamford Bridge.
Such a swap would facilitate the Frenchman’s arrival at San Siro, but ‘the problem is that for the moment there are no encouraging messages’ from Chelsea regarding this.
That also applies for Emerson Palmieri, who is the left-back preferred by the Inter manager.
Add to that the possible interest of Inter in Giroud, and there is ‘lots of meat on the fire’, as Corriere put it.
The problem is, Chelsea don’t seem to want what Inter have to offer, so unless there’s some serious injury in Frank Lampard’s squad or a sudden change of mind, this could be a non starter.
