Julen Lopetegui could do former club Sevilla a favour by signing defender Marcos Acuña for Wolverhampton Wanderers.

That’s according to Vamos Mi Sevilla, who cover the player today amid a growing belief he will be sold by the Spanish side.

Earlier today we covered a report that stated Wolves were one of four clubs eyeing up the Argentine, which followed a report earlier this week that also stated they were in the picture.

Vamos Mi Sevilla now provide their stance on the matter, and say Lopetegui is working with his new team at Wolves to ‘outline’ the second half of the season and the reinforcements they need in the January transfer window.

Acuña is one of those who have been mentioned and the door is very much open for him to leave Sevilla should he wish it.

There is a growing feeling that Lopetegui could do his former team ‘one last favour’ by signing the player and freeing Sevilla from someone who has ‘little commitment’.

He’s’ made that clear in the last few months leading up to the World Cup, although it is not explicitly stated how he has done this. Either way, it doesn’t paint a flattering image of the Argentine.

Sevilla are believed to be asking €12m, an amount that ‘should not be a problem’ for Wolves if Lopetegui convinces them to make a move.
