Crystal Palace signed Romain Esse from Millwall in January and gave him a contract until 2030.

The winger made his debut when he came off the bench and scored in the Eagles’ 2-1 league defeat to Brentford. Since then, he made two appearances, and both were in the FA Cup.

Friday’s edition of Fraternité Matin talks about the possibility of the new Crystal Palace signing representing Ivory Coast.

Manager Emerse Faé will announce the squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Burundi and Gambia later this month.

Several regulars are injured or are returning from an injury and this can open the door for those who dream of representing Les Éléphants. The Crystal Palace man could be offered the chance to represent Ivory Coast.

The report claims Faé must consider those players with dual-nationality and the 19-year-old is one of them.

Esse was born in London and has already represented England U18, U19 and U20s so far. He’s also eligible to represent Ivory Coast. The report says the youngster is ‘on the rise’ and ‘seduces’ every time he steps on the pitch.

Fraternité Matin believe Ivory Coast can secure the Crystal Palace man’s international future by offering him a chance to play for their senior team.

Faé will release the list on Monday, which may come too early for this particular choice.
