Roméo Lavia was an unused substitute in Southampton’s 2-1 league win over Sheffield Wednesday amid interest from Liverpool.
On August 2nd, journalist Sacha Tavolieri stated the Reds are ready to make a third bid after the Saints turned down their initial two offers.
Liverpool haven’t submitted the third proposal just yet. That’s according to Het Laatste Nieuws, who say the Premier League side ‘will not give up’ their pursuit to sign him.
It’s claimed the Championship side are demanding €60m for the Belgium international but Liverpool don’t want to meet their asking price. Despite the difference of €8m, the report states Jürgen Klopp’s side aren’t ready to give up.
HLN say the 19-year-old, for his part, is keen to move to Anfield and has already reached an agreement with Liverpool over personal terms.
Liverpool are pushing for Lavia because they are in the market for a new midfielder after seeing both Jordan Henderson and Fabinho move to Saudi Arabia.
