We all know the Italian media love the rumour mill and never stop having transfer stories, and it turns out they’ve been fuelled up by a specific source over the past few days, with market intermediary Vincenzo Morabito speaking about several players.

One of the subjects the official talked about today was the future of Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, and in an interview with Calciomercato.it, claimed that this would be the ideal time for the 29-year-old to leave the Serie A side.

“I believe that for Koulibaly it could be a good year to leave,” Morabito told Calcio Mercato.

“Liverpool will go heavily and, at the moment, I think there is a big possibility that Koulibaly will be able to leave Napoli.”

Koulibaly has been linked to Premier League sides for a few years for now, with Napoli putting in some hard work to keep him at the club.

So Morabito’s comments on the player ‘being able’ to make the transfer has everything to do with the club’s desire to sell him.

Earlier this week, Morabito had already claimed that Liverpool were in ‘pole’ for the signing, even though it’s still not clear how far the conversations for the transfer have got so far.
