It seems that Manchester United are not the only Premier League club following the Benfica youngster Úmaro Embaló.
A report from the English press has recently claimed the Red Devils have been following the winger, but now Portuguese newspaper A Bola has a report saying Liverpool would also be in the race.
The outlet claims Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool would be considering making an attempt for the 26-year-old, therefore beating Manchester United to it, although there aren’t many details on how the Eagles would react.
The wonderkid has been playing the UEFA Youth League for Benfica, and has one goal and one assist in only 65 minutes so far.
A Bola recalls that Embalo has been playing at an age level above his own, and that’s a reason for many clubs to keep an eye on him, including Spanish giants Real Madrid.
But if Benfica are hard to negotiate with even when selling their average players, we can just imagine how hard will they work to keep such a young star.
It wouldn’t be easy for Liverpool but getting in there before Manchester United would be a start.
