Don Balon were always going to have a lot of Champions League final related rumours on Sunday, and they haven’t disappointed.
Perhaps their most bizarre, and it’s quite a competition, is saying Lucas Vazquez chose to use the occasion to tell Jurgen Klopp to stop trying to sign him because he’s not interested in a move.
Don Balon explain it was a painful night for Klopp, with the injury to Mohamed Salah being the first blow, followed by Loris Karius imploding, and then Vazquez knocking back the chance of a move to Anfield.
It’s quite comical, but the Spanish website says Liverpool have been making efforts to sign Vazquez ‘for weeks’.
Once again it’s stated Marco Asensio has also caught the German’s eye, but it’s thought he’d be even harder to sign than Vazquez.
In Spain’s squad for the World Cup, Vazquez has been an important member of Zinedine Zidane’s squad this season, with the 26 year getting enough games to keep him happy. Given Don Balon’s imaginary Klopp transfer chase would involve Vazquez playing back-up at Liverpool, it was never going to be attractive.
