Just before the weekend, we covered the latest news in Italy about Liverpool’s interest in Kenan Yildiz, currently at Juventus.
The 18-year-old has been attracting a lot of interest of late, and the Reds are seen as one of the teams most interested in the Turkey international.
Gazzetta dello Sport have a small article dedicated to the Liverpool target on Tuesday, where they discuss his situation and what Juventus plan to do with him going forward.
Set to feature against Lucchese with the Turin side’s Next Gen team, Yildiz is still yet to fully convince Max Allegri to give him regular game time, but that will surely come if he continues to perform in Serie C.
The manager has ‘always expressed words of esteem’ for the young talent, and there is a good chance for him to eventually become their next number 10, as long as he sticks around.
Gazzetta state this because they know big clubs are sniffing, and explain that the likes of Liverpool, Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund have included Yilldiz’s name on their ‘shopping list’.
Over at Anfield, it has been reported that Jorg Schmadtke is the one who has been tracking his progress, and suggested him to Jürgen Klopp.
These are teams seen as capable of ‘investing heavily’ in young talent, and while Juventus don’t have a desire to let their prodigy go, it’s pointed out that if ‘faced with an offer of around €30m, the club could also decide to raise money’.
Something worth keeping an eye on, as Liverpool continue to try and plan for the future, having largely invested in players under the age of 25 over the summer.
