Liverpool have gained some pretty have competition if they’re really interested in signing Raul Jimenez from Portuguese side Benfica.
A story in Friday’s edition of Record claims that an interest from China could mean some serious profit for the Eagles. According to the newspaper, there’s a club willing to pay more than €50m for the 25-year-old.
This could come as a surprise for Liverpool, who according to reports from England last week, are keen on signing the ‘£22m rated’ player.
Record claims that the Reds would only be interested in signing the player in the summer window, so there shouldn’t be a chance for a January battle for him anyway.
With eight goals and two assists for Benfica this season, he’s one of the players who’ve been helping the club to keep on top of the Portuguese league.
He was signed from Atletico Madrid in 2015 for €22m after a loan period.
Jurgen Klopp interest would certainly be surprising, and Liverpool battling the Chinese offer, if that exists, is unlikely.
