Liverpool’s chase for Benfica midfielder Florentino Luís continues to be reported by the Portuguese media.
Back last week, we had already covered O Jogo’s report which said ‘exploratory contacts’ had been made for the Reds for the transfer of the 23-year-old.
Today, it’s newspaper Record which says Liverpool have the player ‘under their eye’, with him ‘referenced’ by Jürgen Klopp’s side.
This most recent report uses those very same words to say that ‘exploratory contacts’ have already been made by the Reds to ‘know what’s the current situation’ of the player.
Liverpool are said to be ‘studying a possible attack’ for him, even though no offers seem to have been made for now.
A sign that the talks seem to be in very early stages is that Record doesn’t even mention a price for which Florentino would potentially move to Anfield next year.
Despite being protected by a big €120m release clause, as usually done by Benfica, the midfielder is actually by Transfermarkt at only €8m, especially because of the recent loan spells he had.
The 23-year-old has made 18 appearances for the Portuguese club this season, picking up one assist.
