Luis Díaz should only consider a move from Liverpool to Barcelona this summer if the ‘difference in money is great’.
That’s according to Colombian legend Tino Asprilla, who has commented on the Liverpool winger today in a chat with Gol Caracol, and urged him to remain at Anfield.
Díaz has found himself being linked with a move away from Liverpool again this week, with Barcelona reportedly eyeing him up once more after their failure to sign Nico Williams.
That followed a sensational claim from Spain that Manchester City had even targeted the Colombian winger, going as far as to reach a personal agreement with the player and even being willing to pay as much as €70m for him.
It seems the Dutchman is very much planning on having Díaz is his team, despite also having Cody Gakpo and Diogo Jota as options on the left-wing and both of those arguably pushing to be first choice in the position as well.
Asprilla believes that staying at Anfield would be the right choice, unless there is major money available elsewhere.
“I think Luis Díaz is already settled in Liverpool, you already know him, he’s been there for two years, playing well,” he said.
“If the difference is not much; I would stay at Liverpool. But if the difference in money is great, which in the end is what counts, then one must always look for one’s well-being, both in terms of football and economics.”
