A frontpage report in today’s edition of Mundo Deportivo states that Liverpool star Sadio Mané is ‘seduced’ to play for Barcelona.

Within the report, it is explained the forward ‘would be delighted to join’ the La Liga side in the summer. His contract with the Reds expires in 2023.

The Catalan club are aware of the Liverpool player’s ‘intention’ and their coaches view him as a ‘top player’. They also believe signing the Senegal international is ‘within reach’ for Barca.

Xavi Hernández’s side have a keen desire to bolster their attack in the upcoming window. Erling Haaland was their priority target, but the Borussia Dortmund star is set to join Manchester City.

Mané’s Liverpool teammate, Mohamed Salah, was also an option, but his salary demands are ‘very high’ for the Blaugrana. Barcelona looked at Robert Lewandowski, however, they are finding it difficult to take the Pole away from Bayern Munich.

A new player has ended up on the Spanish giants’ agenda and that is Mané. His ‘dream, if he can leave the English club, is to join La Liga, with a special predilection for Barca’.

Sources from the Camp Nou have informed Mundo that Jürgen Klopp’s man is ‘on the list of possible reinforcements as a real option’ for Barca.

He has not been a top contender to win the Ballon d’Or while at Liverpool. Mané is of the belief he will have more chance of at least competing for the individual award, if he were to make a switch to Spain, and Barca are ‘perfectly aware’ of this.

The attacker now wants to focus on the upcoming league fixtures, the FA Cup final against Chelsea and the Champions League final against Real Madrid later this month. However, the report says Mané’s agent ‘knows what he wants and Barca do too’.

Barcelona are not alone as Bayern Munich are also in the mix to sign the Liverpool player. On Monday, Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenburg the Bavarian club already met his agent at the weekend.
