Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho isn’t very keen on joining Lille, French reports say.

According to Mercato 365, despite the French club’s interest, the player really isn’t thrilled at the prospect of a move to northern France and could spend time looking for more options in the market if he reaches a point of no return at Liverpool.

The Ligue 1 side are looking at new players as their soon-to-be new owner, Gerard Lopez, gets closer to completing his takeover of the club.

Sakho is still to be used by Jurgen Klopp this season, as the only 40 minutes he played for Liverpool were with the reserves in Premier League 2.

The defender made 34 appearances last season, but ended up sidelined with a 30-day suspension after falining a drug test.

This lack of game time after the ban should really mean the exit door for him soon, and that’s why so much speculation has appeared surrounding the 26-year-old lately.

The website also mentions the recent rumours which link Sakho to Olympique Marseille following the new takeover, but the defender’s past at (and undeniable love for) PSG makes this transfer highly unlikely.

Sakho’s contract at Anfield only expires in 2020, so if he really is out of the club’s plans, Liverpool should really help him to find a way out too.
