Mohamed Salah is ‘very close’ to signing a two-year contract extension with Liverpool and bringing the drama around his contract to an end.

That’s according to Foot Mercato, who report, according to their information, it is positive news for Liverpool in their efforts to extend Salah’s deal.

The Egyptian star is out of contract at Anfield in the summer and negotiations with Liverpool have been progressing slowly for months, despite Salah’s public efforts to try and push things along.

A recent report in England stated that negotiations between Liverpool and Salah’s agent had progressed well and FM now back that up.

According to FM’s information, Salah is very close’ to signing a two-year contract extension at Liverpool to take him to ten years at the club overall.

The website offer no details on the salary that he would get from the extension, so it’s still unclear whether there will be a wage cut for the 32-year-old.

That will come out sooner rather than later, though, and the good news for Liverpool at the moment is that Salah is on the verge of getting what he has wanted for several months.
