Liverpool are ‘keeping abreast’ of the situation around Strasbourg defender Mohamed Simakan, with AC Milan and RB Leipzig battling for his signature.
That’s according to Telefoot journalist Julien Maynard, who says the Reds are also interested in the 20-year-old centre back.
Simakan has found himself in the middle of a tug of war between Milan and Leipzig this month after Strasbourg opened the door to a sale.
They’re busy negotiating with the Ligue 1 club over a deal, but the Premier League are also thought to be tracking the defender, with Chelsea, Wolves and Everton all linked in the last month.
Liverpool can now be added to that list according to Maynard, who says they are ‘keeping abreast of the case’.
He explains that Milan and Leipzig are battling it out for Simakan and are ‘almost in agreement’ over a transfer and ‘should quickly make an offer’.

The player, for his part, is listening and, presumably, watching what is going on and then will have to make his choice between the pair.
He could presented with a third option should Liverpool make a move, although there is no indication that they will do so at this moment in time.
Perhaps that will change when it becomes apparent how much Strasbourg are willing to sell for, and if that deal is good value, they will make a move.
