Liverpool have joined the race for PSV midfielder Ibrahim Sangaré, according to reports from the Netherlands.
Voetbal International today writes that scouts from the Reds were in the stands to watch the 24-year-old in the final weeks of the season, following the great year he had for the Eredivisie side.
And even though it’s pointed out that PSV want to do ‘everything’ to keep the player in Eindhoven, there’s nothing they can do in case his release clause is triggered.
Sangaré can be signed by a fee of €37.5m, and Voetbal International writes that the question now is if any of the interested clubs will pay that amount.
It’s not only Liverpool who are interested in taking Sangaré to the Premier League, as several English sides have been linked to the player lately. The very same report points out that the likes of Aston Villa, Leicester City and Newcastle United all showed interested in his transfer already.
Liverpool, however, have him ‘firmly in their sights’.
Since the price for his move is well defined and seems to be reasonable for the current market, it sounds like a matter of convincing the player.
