For the past few days, reports from the Dutch press have stated Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund have an interest in PSV Eindhoven’s Donyell Malen.
Malen is not the only attacker on their Reds’ radar as they have identified Sassuolo’s Domenico Berardi as a target. That’s according to La Stampa, as relayed by Sassuolonews.net.
It’s explained the Merseyside club have ‘set their sights’ on the 26-year-old who enjoyed a good spell with the Serie A side last season with 17 goals and eight assists in 30 league matches.
As per the claims, the Italy international is now ‘tempted’ to make a ‘big leap’ in the summer.
Jürgen Klopp’s side have ‘targeted’ him, but that doesn’t mean a deal could be on the cards soon. According to the report, the forward arriving at Anfield will only be possible if Mohamed Salah decides to leave the Premier League side.
For Berardi to perform at his best, he ‘must feeling protected from the environment’, but the idea to replace the Egypt international at Liverpool could ‘change his perspective’.
There’s even a suggestion Klopp’s side could prepare an offer of €40m, but this is much likelier if Salah is sold.
