Following the rumours which said Liverpool were interested in signing Arnaut Danjuma in the summer, it seems the Reds haven’t given up on the 24-year-old.
After his good season with Bournemouth in the Championship, the player ended up making a move to La Liga side Villarreal, who signed him in a €23.5m deal.
Now according to a fresh and interesting report from the Netherlands, Liverpool remain keen on Danjuma, and will have an eye on him tomorrow night.
Voetbal International writes that scouts from the Reds will watch the winger’s performance at Old Trafford, as Villarreal will be facing Manchester United in the Champions League.
The website writes there’s an ‘above-average interest’ from Liverpool, as the Reds are ‘particularly charmed’ by the player and see him ‘as a possible successor’ to Sádio Mané.
It’s claimed Jurgen Klopp’s side have ‘mapped out’ the options in case the Senegalese star leaves, and Danjuma is seen as a target who fits the profile wanted by the club.
Voetbal International doesn’t seem to have an idea of how much Villarreal would demand or what Liverpool would offer for the transfer for now. All they seem to know is that the Reds remain very attentive to the player.
