It seems someone is trying to get a Hakim Ziyech to Liverpool story started.

On Wednesday, we spotted a story from Bladna.nl claiming Jürgen Klopp has asked representatives to travel to Amsterdam in order to scout the player, currently contracted to AFC Ajax, and eventually start talks regarding a future transfer to Anfield.

Bladna state this is according to ‘multiple Dutch media reports’, which we failed to find after a lot of digging.

The same article states the same report claims a sudden interest from Liverpool in the Moroccan playmaker could be down to the ‘probable future departure’ of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona in ‘coming weeks’.

The 23-year-old has scored three goals in his last four games for Ajax, but his form failed to earn him a call-up to Morocco’s national team, for whom he already has nine caps.

Honestly, this sounds like something plucked out of thin air and chucked on a website just to garner hits, considering the lack of sources backing these claims.

There have been reports of Liverpool interest in Ziyech in the past, like these from July, but even those were flakey at best.

Until something concrete is spotted about this alleged Klopp interest in the player, we’d suggest you to not get your hopes up just yet.
