At the start of this year, Jérémy Doku’s parents revealed Liverpool were interested in signing him before he made his first team debut for Anderlecht in November 2018.
On August 19th, the forward revealed the Reds invited him over to England and Jürgen Klopp was keen on signing him for the Merseyside club.
The Premier League winners have not given up on the 18-year-old, and according to Het Nieuwsblad, Liverpool have ‘renewed interest’ in Doku.
It’s claimed Klopp’s side would want to sign the talented youngster this summer and then allow him to return to Anderlecht on a loan deal.
Vincent Kompany’s side are ‘aware’ of the interest, but deny that concrete negotiations will start soon.
Anderlecht would rather not sell their ‘rough diamond’, but given their financial situation, the report states every player can be sold ‘for right price’. For Doku, it’s in ‘tens of millions’.
He finished the last campaign with eight goals and three assists in all competitions, and has a goal and an assist to his name in four league appearances this season.
Doku even scored his first goal for Belgium in their 5-1 win over Iceland, just days after making his debut against Denmark last week.
