On June 4th, Sports Zone stated Liverpool are in the picture to sign Athletico Paranaense goalkeeper Bento in the summer window.

Globo Esporte now reiterate Liverpool’s interest and claim they are keeping an eye on the 25-year-old’s situation.

Bento’s childhood dream was to join Inter Milan, who have shown keen interest in him. They tabled a €15m bid, but it wasn’t enough to convince the Brazilian club, who have rejected their offer.

Therefore, the Serie A side are working on signing Genoa goalkeeper Josep Martínez. This may an encouragement for Liverpool and FC Porto, who are interested in signing the Brazil international.

It’s claimed both the player’s representatives and Athletico Paranaense ‘will now listen to other proposals’ for Bento. The report makes no mention of whether the Reds or Porto are willing to make an offer for him this summer.

If there are no offers, the player will continue with Athletico Paranaense, where he has a deal until December 2026.

Transfermarkt value Bento at €15m, but Liverpool and Porto have to offer more than this to convince Athletico Paranaense, considering they have already rejected Inter’s €15m bid.
