It’s been a crazy couple of days for Manuel Ugarte, as there have been reports saying many clubs would like to buy him from Sporting this summer.
Big media outlets have been saying that Paris Saint Germain and Chelsea would both like to trigger his €60m release clause. And now it’s time to add Liverpool to that race.
The story comes from France, where Le Parisien speaks of PSG’s hunt for the player.
The outlet points out that the Ligue 1 giants are not alone in the battle, pointing out that Liverpool are also ‘ready’ to put €60m on the table as well.
It’s worth pointing out that the Portuguese media has been claiming that Ugarte would rather move to the Premier League than to France, so even though Liverpool may have some English competition, that’s an advantage they may get over PSG.
Now what Reds’ fans may be thinking about is that the club have also been heavily linked to Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Alexis Mac Allister for a similar amount.
With it sounding unlikely Jurgen Klopp’s side would sign both, that may be a decision for the manager to make if he gets offered both by the Liverpool hierarchy.
