Following last season’s Leicester success story, a few clubs around Europe have been trying to repeat the feat. Nice in France, for example, started their holidays two points ahead of second-placed Monaco and five in front of Paris Saint-Germain.
One of the reasons behind this, other than Lucien Favre being appointed as manager, has been some of the young talent stepping up their game, including midfielder Wylan Cyprien.
The French magazine claim Jurgen Klopp’s side have made Nice aware of their interest for their young midfielder, and could ‘quickly make an offer’.
Nice have set the bar at €30m for their new prodigy, a fee Liverpool are said to be considering to put on the table in order to get a deal done this winter.
Whether Liverpool actually do that remains to be seen.
The central midfielder has scored six goals and picked up two assists in 23 appearances so far this season, and was recently called up to play for France’s U21s, scoring a goal in two caps for his country’s youth team.
Wylan Cyprien has hugely impressed this season, so it would be no surprise if he’s caught Jurgen Klopp’s eye, but a summer transfer would be much likelier.
