For a while now, the future of Marcelo Brozović has been a very popular topic of conversation in Italy.

The Croatian midfielder is thriving at Inter, but his contract is expiring at the end of the season, which has attracted a lot of attention from clubs abroad, including Liverpool.

Still in search of a replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum, the Reds have been linked with the Serie A star a few times, and Tuesday was no different.

Sport Mediaset, relayed by FC Inter 1908, claim that while a ‘long-awaited meeting’ between the player’s lawyer and Inter could take place during the international break regarding a renewal, there is a lot of competition waiting in the wings.

There is an ‘interest of many great teams in Europe’, as the outlet list Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool and Real Madrid, claiming that all of these clubs are ‘ready to offer the Croatian a salary of €7-8m/season’.

That is more than Inter can afford, meaning there is a financial advantage from elsewhere, but multiple reports have suggested that if Brozovic can stay at his current club in some shape or form, he will.

It seems that a move abroad will only come as a last resort, but if it does end up coming to that, Jurgen Klopp will be waiting for him.
