There’s a lot going on with Liverpool in the transfer rumour mill at the moment, most of which revolving around Ibrahima Konaté.
Multiple reports are suggesting the French centre-back is close to signing with the Reds, with some even claiming parts of the medical have already been undertaken, and should it all go through, it would put to bed other rumours involving defenders heading to Anfield.
Among those is Kalidou Koulibaly, who has been a long-term target for the Premier League club, with Gazzetta dello Sport reporting it once again on Tuesday.
The Serie A side have reportedly found a replacement in Feyenoord’s Marcos Senesi, whom their director of football, Cristiano Giuntoli, has targeted for some time.
As for Koulibaly, it’s made explicitly clear that Liverpool ‘are ready to invest €50m on him’, which, to us, sounds like an alternative to Konaté.
It firmly appears that the RB Leipzig man is currently top of Jürgen Klopp’s list, and perhaps one of the easiest deals to pull off with the release clause, but if that, for some reason, falls through, then it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Reds return with a vengeance.
