Liverpool’s interest in Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez is reported by the Italian media today.
It’s Calciomercato who features a story about the chase, and their headline is quite different from what they have to say in their text.
The website features their piece claiming Liverpool are ‘ready to attack’ Martinez, who ‘could be sacrificed’ by Inter Milan in the next transfer window.
The article, however, isn’t that strong. It’s indeed claimed that the Nerazzurri may have to make a couple of sales in the summer, and since the Argentine isn’t having a great time at the club, he may be the one to go.
Then Calciomercato recalls that Liverpool and their manager, Jürgen Klopp, have a long-time admiration for him, as he had already been an option before they signed Diogo Jota and is ‘still there in the list’ in case Roberto Firmino goes.
Therefore it’s said it’s ‘not excluded’ the Reds will try Martinez in the summer.
The 24-year-old, however, won’t be cheap. His last contract doesn’t include a release clause, and Inter Milan reportedly value him at €90m.
