Liverpool are reportedly one of the clubs interested in Benfica defender Rúben Dias.

As written by newspaper Correio da Manhã today, the Reds are alongside Atletico Madrid and AC Milan in the race for the 21-year-old.

With Dias going to the World Cup with Portugal, he’s said to be totally focused on the tournament for now, making any negotiations unlikely to happen in the next month.

But in case he has some good performances for the country, then Benfica are expecting some of these ‘sharks’ to bid for him after the tournament.

Correio da Manhã makes it clear that Benfica have no intention to sell Dias this summer, especially because manager Rui Vitória is counting on him for next season.

That’s why club president Luis Filipe Vieira will demand at least €40m for the transfer, an amount which is pretty close to the player’s €45m release clause.

Correio da Manhã doesn’t say if it’s Liverpool, Atletico or Milan who are leading the race for now, so it looks like there aren’t advanced talks with any of these clubs at this stage.
