For Liverpool fans who want Enzo Fernandez to arrive at Anfield in one of the coming windows, there’s some very positive news from Portugal on Tuesday morning.

The Benfica midfielder has won some extra fans during his time at the World Cup, with multiple good performances in Qatar. He’s expected to start the match on Tuesday evening, as Argentina face Croatia for a place in the Qatar 2022 final.

O Jogo report there’ve been able to back up claims, which originated in Spain, that Liverpool have a pre-agreement with the player’s entourage.

On top of that, the Portuguese newspaper say they’ve found out Jurgen Klopp’s side ‘promise to match’ any proposal from elsewhere for the midfielder.

According to the report, Fernandez is ‘already in Liverpool’s hands’ and the player is leaning towards a move to the Merseyside club.

However, a transfer in the summer is thought to be likelier than the winter market.

It’s the summer when Liverpool have a ‘pre-agreement’ for, and O Jogo explain the player will join them over other options. That’s why they’d be willing to match any offer from elsewhere.

Benfica want €120m for a winter transfer, which is the player’s clause, and it’s not thought Klopp’s side are keen to pay that and rush things.
