The Catalan media aren’t letting go of the Georginio Wijnaldum and Sadio Mane transfer claims, and Sunday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo carries the whole thing along.
According to their report, the Liverpool pair are ‘expectant and even excited’ over links with Barcelona.
It’s once again stated that intermediaries have offered Mane to Barcelona, taking advantage of the Lionel Messi situation. A potential transfer fee is put at over €120m, and the newspaper doesn’t hide away from how difficult the move would be.
Messi’s exit is the only way Barcelona would have the money, and that’s assuming the Argentine actually leaves and that a big transfer fee is paid.
Mane is again said to feel he’s not fully appreciated at Anfield, at least in comparison to the club’s other star players.
Wijnaldum’s situation is different, given that his contract ends in June 2021.
A move to Barcelona is considered ‘viable’ for a fee around €30m, and it’s stated that would then give Liverpool money for the signing of Thiago Alcantara.
