Things aren’t looking great for Simon Mignolet at the minute, especially following the news from Italy that David Ospina is the man Napoli have chosen to add competition to their goalkeeper position alongside Alex Meret and Orestis Karnezis.

Third in the pecking order at Liverpool, the goalkeeper knows he won’t get much, if any, game time at Anfield this season, meaning an exit remains his first port of call to get some minutes on the pitch.

DH in Belgium explain his entourage is still working hard in that department, unwilling to let Mignolet remain Liverpool’s squad for the 2018-19 campaign in these circumstances.

Having already lost his starting role to Loris Karius last season, the Belgian has seen more competition added with arrival of Alisson this summer, now the second most expensive goalkeeper in the world.

DH state Liverpool remain keen to keep Mignolet around and aren’t interested in loaning him out.

Our guess is they’d much rather see him leave permanently should that option present itself before the end of the month rather than sending him away temporarily, only to go through all of this again next summer.
