Over the past few days and weeks, various reports coming out of the Italian press have pushed Liverpool’s Divock Origi towards AC Milan.
The striker’s current deal at Anfield expires in June and he’s planning to leave the Reds as a free agent after this season. This has made him a market opportunity and the Rossoneri seem to be leading the race to secure his signature.
On Tuesday, Calciomercato explained the Serie A side have reached a ‘basis of agreement’ with the 26-year-old and the deal is ‘perhaps hours’ away from being concluded.
Gianluca Di Marzio now gives an insight into the progress made by Stefano Pioli’s side to sign the Belgium international. It’s claimed the first and only offer made includes a four-year deal worth €3m per year in salary.
‘There is an agreement on the duration’ from Jürgen Klopp’s man, but not on the wages as he wants an annual salary of €4.5m. As per the claims, an agreement between the two parties could be found for €4m.
The report further adds Origi’s entourage ‘expects a new signal’ from Milan chiefs, Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara, ‘in the coming days’.
The Liverpool player has already ‘given his OK to Milan’ and now both parties must find an agreement for the salary. Therefore, the next few days will be ‘decisive’ to understand whether or not the Serie A side can ‘tighten to close’ the deal for Origi.
