With Liverpool scraping their way into the top four at the very last minute this season, there is a need for some rejuvenation at Anfield in the upcoming transfer window.

Some of the deadweight will have to go, and among those seemingly expected to find a new club in the next few months is Xherdan Shaqiri.

The Switzerland international was hardly used in the starting XI by Jürgen Klopp and with a contract until 2023, now would be a good time to sell to get some of their £13m or so back.

Getting it all seems a tough ask considering the player’s current status in the Liverpool squad, but there are clubs interested in him, including Lazio.

Corriere dello Sport look at a potential transfer from Merseyside to Rome and state Shaqiri ‘will leave Liverpool’ as he ‘hasn’t found much space in England for years’.

With Maurizio Sarri now expected to take over at Lazio, it’s made clear the ‘attackers will be key’ to the manager’s project, and the Liverpool player’s name has ‘re-appeared’ alongside Milot Rashica’s as a target for the Serie A club.

One to keep an eye on.
