Simon Mignolet has wanted an exit from Liverpool for some time, and already had disagreements with the club over his future.
When Loris Karius arrived and took the starting spot, albeit losing it to Mignolet for a while, the Belgian looked towards the exit already.
Then, when Jurgen Klopp brought in Alisson as undisputed number one, Mignolet and his agents were open about the desire to leave Anfield to try their luck elsewhere.
But it was Karius who was allowed to leave and Klopp then hit out at Mignolet for comments about being denied a move, although it was easy to sympathise with the former Sunderland goalkeeper.
Now it seems the Liverpool back-up has an attractive chance to leave.
Het Belang van Limburg report that Nice are interested for the January window, and it’s presented as something Mignolet would be keen on.
Patrick Vieira isn’t happy with his goalkeeping options and is said to have the Liverpool option ‘at the top of his wish-list’.
Now Mignolet would need to tussle with Klopp to be allowed a January exit, and some winter sun in Nice.
