Aksam today report Bundesliga outfit Mainz are showing an interest in signing Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius, who’s on loan at Besiktas.
It’s been been widely reported in the Turkish media that Besiktas want to part ways with Karius at the end of the season and the Liverpool owned player is also keen to leave.
The German goalkeeper’s performances have often received criticism amongst Besiktas’ board and the technical staff, Karius is not happy either due to delayed payments and the questioning he’s faced since arriving in Istanbul.
According to Aksam, his former club Mainz are now showing an interest in signing the 25 year old and Liverpool are reportedly open to sending Karius back to the Bundesliga.
It’s reported if Besiktas give the green light to send Karius back to Liverpool in the summer, then the Premier League club will be in a position to send him back to Germany.
Given Besiktas’ recent stance over Karius it seems the Turkish club will happily allow him to do whatever he wants, as long as it involves leaving.
