With three clean sheets in three games, Alisson has been having a great start in his Liverpool career. The Brazilian who joined the Reds on a €62.5m move from Roma this summer is all about smiles so far.

His great form has been attracting a lot of media attention, not only from the English press. Earlier this week, we’ve already covered an interview he had with Brazilian outlet UOL. Now he’s spoken to ESPN Brasil as well.

Most of the topics from the chat with UOL were the same as in the interview with ESPN. But when speaking to the TV channel, Alisson could recall the video chat in which Jurgen Klopp convinced him to join Liverpool.

“His call was one of the things that made me calm,” Alisson told Natali Gedra from ESPN Brasil. “That showed how much they were interested in counting on me. Not only the club but also him. And it was a long call.

“Me in my a bit scratched English (laughs). But we managed to understand each other well. He spoke practically about the way he works, the way I’d fit into the team, what I could add to the team, what the team could also add to me.”

Regarding his skill-packed show against Brighton, Alisson claims that he never wanted to humiliate opponents. Asked about how he measures the risks he takes, he said: “Well, it’s already measured, I take the risk for sure (laughs).”

“You have to take care of the cardiac fans (laughs). What I do on the pitch is not to denigrate anyone’s image, it’s not to humiliate the adversary. It’s to help the team, being aware that my mistake can be fatal. That doesn’t mean that from time to time I’m not going to give a kick out to the stands either.”

Finally on his adaptation to Liverpool, Alisson said: “I fit in a perfect way in the team, the style of play, a style that I like to play, to participate in the offensive building phase. This can help me a lot in my confidence to play with my feet. In being always concentrated the 90 minutes, and this is something that also brings consequences for my game in the national team, which has similar characteristics.”
