Liverpool continued their unbeaten run in the Premier League as they registered a 2-0 victory over Fulham at Anfield on Sunday.
Mohamed Salah was leading the Reds’ attack as Jurgen Klopp fielded Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Xherdan Shaqiri behind the Egyptian star.
The Brazilian’s ball to Shaqiri in the first half allowed him to cut in and shoot from outside the box, but he narrowly missed the target. Fulham keeper Sergio Rico would have covered it, if it was otherwise.
After Salah opened the scoring in the 41st minute, the Swiss international doubled the lead eight minutes into the second half.
The 27-year-old was left unmarked by the Cottagers defender, allowing the ex-Stoke City forward to tap in from close range.
Shaqiri has made it to Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport‘s European Team of the Week and has received a rating of eight for his performance in the third league start for the Reds.
Having scored two goals and registered two assists in the Premier League, it looks like Liverpool were right to bet on his signing in the summer.
Even if Jurgen Klopp wished to, he could cash-in now for far more than what Stoke received.
