On Sunday, Mohamed Salah scored and assisted in Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Manchester City. After the tie, he said it could be the last time he faced the Citizens at Anfield.
The Egypt international’s deal lasts until 2025 and already stated Liverpool haven’t made a renewal offer.
Salah has been linked to a few clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain, and L’Equipe provide the latest on what’s happening in the background with PSG.
There could be the possibility of PSG securing the 32-year-old’s services for free next summer.
A source has told L’Equipe the Liverpool star has been in talks with the French champions.
‘The two parties have been talking for a long time now. Except this time, Mohamed Salah opened the door. There is now a good chance that he will end up at Paris-Saint-Germain,’ a source said.
The insinuation is that Salah’s camp could have leaked this information, considering Luis Enrique’s side have dismissed it. When the newspaper contacted PSG, they stated this claim “was not true”.
The PSG’s officials insist them bring dragged them into the mix is the ‘strategy on the Egyptian’s side to put pressure’ on Liverpool to offer an extension.
His salary, signing on bonus and agent fee could be an issue for PSG.
L’Equipe do point out that there’s been instances where PSG have initially denied interest and ended up signing the player.
With regards to Liverpool, they have a decision to make over Salah’s future beyond this season.
